Course overview

The University of Reading, through the AFTP, offers a suite of four modules under the theme “Flexible Learning Path” intended to recognise the learning and professional application of outcomes from courses not carrying formal academic credits

The Document of Personal Learning module allows participants to take ownership of their personal, professional and academic development and to demonstrate acquired knowledge and skills to enhance their practice within the workplace.

Participants will be expected to evidence their personal learning through the justification of need and benefit within the context of their workplace. The nature of the learning will be flexible but must be fully justified by the participant in terms of relevance and benefit to their employment.

Learning outcomes

Participants will research and justify personal learning courses with the support and advice of their industrial mentor and personal tutor.

Learning will be acquired through various teaching and learning strategies used in taught study modules, units and courses that the participant has undertaken.
