Course overview

Book Now  The Farm Business Management course gives participants the skills to analyse, carry out and revise farm business plans. The module will look at all aspects of farm planning from the accounts to the physical aspects that anyone dealing with farms should be aware of. The participants will be taught how to develop a robust and logical plan and be given the task of creating a plan of their own through our unique interactive farm business. 

This course is an optional module in the MSc Sustainable and Efficient Food Production

The module is delivered by Aberystwyth University, entirely online through distance learning.

Learning outcomes

On successful completion of this module participants should be able to:

  • Evaluate the impacts of policy, economics and markets on farm businesses
  • Analyse a farm business plan
  • Critically assess risk and sensitivity as factors of a farm business management
  • Develop and revise a farm business plan

    Our distance learning modules are designed to be flexible and most of our participants work full time at the same time as studying for 10 to 15 per week, for each 20 credit module. Blocks of modules are delivered with start dates in January, May and September, with most modules offered once each year.
