Could you become an AFTP Executive Board Member?

The AFTP is a partnership of six leading internationally recognised research institutions with the scientific credentials to provide innovation and training in the technical skills needed by the UK agriculture and agrifood industries.

Our mission is to educate and challenge agrifood industry professionals to create a culture of sustainable, quality food production that benefits health and promotes a responsible, profitable food industry for the future.

To do this, we need you!

The AFTP is looking for Executive Board Members with the skills, expertise and connections to strategic networks from working in the agrifood sector to help us achieve our vision and to ensure good governance of all aspects of the AFTP.

We are looking for individuals operating at a senior level with experience of successful networking and partnership working who can take a lead in driving forward the education and research capabilities of a global agrifood sector. Executive Board members need to 'champion' the AFTP and be able to create new opportunities and links to support the AFTP in developing and achieving its vison.

Executive Board members will support the Director, and provide strategic direction for the overall work of the AFTP to ensure that it meets the collaborative training requirement of employers and their staff, and that it remains responsive to the needs of the agrifood industry but are not required to be involved in the day-to-day detail.

If you believe you could help us make a difference to the Food Industry then we would love to hear from you. We would particularly welcome applications from individuals with experience in the food supply chain (especially livestock, pasture, or forage), and experience of HR management would be a considerable benefit.

The closing date for applications is Friday 18th August 2017.

To apply, for more information, or for an informal discussion about the role of a Board member, please contact Carol Wagstaff, AFTP Director on c.wagstaff@reading.ac.uk, or Barbara Mason, AFTP Operations Director on b.p.mason@reading.ac.uk.
